John D. Rockfeller (July 8, 1839 - May 23, 1937), the founder of Standard Oil was once the richest man in the world. He was the first billionaire in the world. He achieved a net worth of at least $1 billion in 1916. When Rockefeller died in 1937, his net worth was estimated to be around $340 billion in today's dollars. By age 25, he controlled one of the largest oil refineries in the US. He was 31 years old when he became the world’s largest oil refiner. At 38, he commanded 90% of the oil refined in the U.S. John, at the age of fifty was the richest man in America. As a young man, every decision, attitude, and relationship was tailored to create his personal power and wealth. But at the age of 53, he became ill. His entire body became racked with pain and he lost all of his hair. In complete agony, the world’s only billionaire could buy anything he wanted, but he could only digest soup and crackers. An associate wrote, "He could not sleep, would not smile and nothing in life meant anything to him". His personal, highly skilled physicians predicted he would die within a year. That year passed agonizingly slowly. As he approached death he awoke one morning with the vague realisation of not being able to take any of his wealth with him into the next world. The man who could control the business world suddenly realized he was not in control of his own life. He was left with a choice. He called his attorneys, accountants, and managers and announced that he wanted to channel his assets to Hospitals, Research, and Charity work. John D. Rockefeller established his Foundation. Rockefeller Foundation supported the efforts of Howard Florey and his colleague Norman Heatley in their research on penicillin in 1941. But perhaps the most amazing part of Rockefeller’s story is that the moment he began to give back a portion of all that he had earned, his body’s chemistry was altered so significantly that he got better. It looked as if he would die at 53 but he lived to be 98. Rockefeller learned gratitude and gave back the vast majority of his wealth. Doing so made him whole. It is one thing to be healed. It is another to be made whole. He was a devoted Baptist and attended the Euclid Avenue Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio. Before his death, he wrote this in his diary: “God taught me, that everything belongs to Him, and I am only a channel to comply His wishes. My life has been one long, happy holiday thereafter; Full of work and full of play, I dropped the worry, on the way, and God was good to me every day.” Source: Internet Edited by King Enegoma
Scripture:
Ephesians 6:13, NIV
“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”
Read:
God never promised us that we would not have problems. In the Scripture, Jesus told His disciples that they would have trouble in this life. That goes for us as well. But God gives us His armor for protection—the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth, shoes of peace, the shield of faith. He gives us everything we need for victory.
When difficult things come, things we don’t understand, God uses them to develop our character. We were created to confront our fears and live in His peace. If we stand in faith, letting Him fight our battles no matter how bad things get, we will come out better than we were before.
Many of us have been facing battles this week—battles of fear, uncertainty, and doubt. Pray to see things from God’s perspective. Whatever we face, whatever comes against us, we have no reason to worry. The Most High God fights for us. We can put on His armor and live without fear. The enemy may come, but he has no power over us. He’s already been defeated.
Pray:
“Father, thank You that You have provided me with Your armor to be able to withstand the evil days. Thank You that with Your help, I can take my stand and not be overcome by fear. I believe that as I stay in peace, You will give me everything I need for victory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
I'd love to connect with you in His name my friend :)
